It’s time for another CLEAN WITH ME video, and this week Melissa tackles the KITCHEN! This is one of the most in-demand places in our home, and the most requested space you wanted us to clean! So, let’s follow Melissa Maker as she organizes, wipes, polishes, straightens, sweeps, mops and cleans the kitchen!
You’ll need these products: All-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, and a degreaser (optional) and disinfectant (also optional).
And these tools: A garbage bag, a bin, microfiber cloths, a broom, a mop… and of course, some tunes to get you through it!
Start with wave 1! This is where you work systematically around the room, picking up things that don’t belong here. Garbage and recycling go in the bag and bin, and everything else gets put outside the room to deal with later. This preps the room for the actual cleaning.
Wave 2: Here we go! Wiping, polishing, and disinfecting happens on this round. Use the sink as your starting point (you’ll be rinsing repeatedly, so it gets cleaned last) and work your way around moving left and working from top to bottom, spraying with all-purpose cleaner and wiping with a cloth to polish with an S-pattern. Start out by eyeballing anything that needs pre-treating (the stovetop often does) and give it a good spray-down with the all-purpose cleaner or degreaser. Letting it sit while you tackle the rest of the kitchen will ensure that by the time you’re ready to clean it, all that grime will come off easily. When you have to move anything, say, the toaster, to clean, move it to the left, to ensure that it’s placed on a dirty surface rather than a clean one. Cabinets don’t have to get a full wipe-down every time; eyeball them and just spot-clean where needed.
Wave 3: You’re nearing the finish line! First, scrub that sink clean, since you’re done with it. Next, sweep up the floor, and finish with a mopping. Replace any rugs and take out the trash—can you believe it was that simple?
COMMENT QUESTION: WHAT SPACE SHOULD WE CLEAN NEXT?!?

Melissa, how would you clean kitchen cabinets. My drawers, doors, are very sticky. No matter what I have used. I have used dawn, baking soda and degreasers, nothing works. Feels clean when wet, but when dries it is still sticky. Especially when it’s damp out. HELP
